Managed vs private load locations
Choose managed cloud runners for public targets and private runner locations for internal, regulated, or network-bound systems.
Before you start
- A target environment and owner-approved test window.
Managed locations
Managed cloud locations are the fastest way to generate traffic against public targets. They reduce operational setup and make repeatable regional tests easier.
Private locations
Private runner locations are for targets that should not be publicly reachable. They keep traffic inside or near the network boundary your team controls while still reporting results back into Maxoperf.
Decision guide
Use managed locations when the target is public and the goal is regional repeatability. Use private locations when the target is internal, regulated, partner-only, or sensitive to a particular network path.
FAQ
Can the same team use both location types?
Yes. Many teams use managed locations for public user paths and private locations for internal or partner-facing systems.
